Runeterra (literally magical earth) is a League of Legends RPG (short for roleplay game), based on the original game owned by Riot Games Inc. created by fans for fans. Design your own character in the universe of the famous MOBA and leave your own footprints on the world.
This forum follows the timeline of the original League of Legends, where all known champions exist but are not playable. From there on this will become it's own timeline.
This thread is a must read!

After posting your application you have 7 days to finish it. Otherwise, it will be moved to the archive. In order to be accepted into the RPG, you require two okays from a staff member.
§ 2.1 Writing rules: When you describe your characters actions, always use 3rd person singular in the past tense. If you post in the RPG, your post needs to be a minimum of 200+ written characters. You always need a post partner. You can't play with yourself. This also means that you can't play with one of your own characters. However, it's okay to post with an NPC, played by someone else than you.
§ 2.2 Skipping: Sometimes your post partner becomes inactive for a certain amount of time or even leaves the forum. To make sure that you don't get permanently stuck there are some guidelines for cases, where you are allowed to skip the post that you are waiting for. First, always try to contact your post partner and figure out how long it's going to take him/her to make his/her next post or why s/he is currently not able to post. From there on you have different options, depending on how many people participate in that scene.
2.2.1 In a scene with more than two players, you can skip after 48 hours. That means in the posting order it's the next person's turn. To make sure the delay isn't too big, you - or other players from that scene - should make sure it's communicated to that person that it's now his/her turn instead.
2.2.2 In a scene with only two players you have two options. Either you simply end the scene by editing your last post, if possible. Or you pause the scene. Once your post partner has returned you can resume that scene at any point in the future. In order to pause a scene, you need to contact a staff member or simply post in your update thread so that the scene can be paused. In order to resume that scene, you go through the same procedure. However, you can only resume a scene if your scene limit isn't full (read more about scene limits in the next post).

Wikipedia schrieb:Powergaming (or power gaming) is a style of interacting with games or game-like systems, particularly video games, board games, and role-playing games, with the aim of maximizing progress towards a specific goal, to the exclusion of other considerations such as storytelling, atmosphere and camaraderie. Due to its focus on the letter of the rules over the spirit of the rules, it is often seen as unsporting, un-fun, or unsociable.
In this scenario, it's describing actions which are out of character or in any other form out of the norm (e.g. being invincible, never getting hit etc.). This is something that easily happens in fights, so always remember that nobody is perfect. Powergaming can and will be punished if it happens frequently and will not be tolerated. It can even lead to your character getting killed.
The first and basic rule is: no player character can simply be killed. It's impossible to show up and kill someone, except maybe a non-fighting NPC, which hasn't been created by someone else than yourself.
If you truly want to kill a player character it requires consent of that player. Then, and only then, you are allowed to kill that character.
§ 4.1 Exeptional cases: There are some special situations, in which it is allowed to kill someone's character without his/her consent. This would be in a scenario where a rather weak character decides to siege entire Noxus. If a character does something simply stupid which would cost his life under any circumstances because he is simply underpowered, it is allowed to kill that character. However, inform the player about the situation and talk to a member of the staff if they agree with you on the circumstances of the situation.
Also, in a scenario of extreme power gaming - especially when it is not the first time - feel free to contact the staff about it, in a situation like this, it is also likely that the character will die.
§ 4.2 Killing as a form of character development: In an open universe as the League of Legends universe, death doesn't necessarily mean the end. Instead, you can also use it to improve your character. For example, a human could turn into something else, s/he could learn a new ability or get into a form of symbiosis which grants him/her new powers. Just make sure that your argument why this should happen is plausible.
The process here is to apply the changes via update, get an okay from the staff and then play a plot around the character which leads to the possible death and changes to that character.

The main focus of the forum is on the RPG, which plays in the world of the famous MOBA League of Legends. You do not know what a forum role play is? No problem at all! Take a closer look at this thread to get a short overview of relevant details.
However, reading or presenting a story is far from over. In the various segments of the RPG section, you will be writing and interacting with the characters of other users, thus determining the course of your story, and thus influencing your little hero more or less the entire world.
See the role play as a kind of interactive book. You create your own character in a clearly defined setting that exists in this world and lives its life there through your hand. Not alone, but with acquaintances, comrades, friends and rivals written by other players.
Together with your posting partners, develop new ideas for exciting experiences.
Buy a pet.
Travel together to an unknown island.
Meet new characters and find allies. Or foes.
Play politics in your local city.
Train together, to become stronger.
Search for a big treasure.
You set your own goals. At your own pace.
Needless to say, you do not have any influence on everything. Factions in their entirety, kingdoms, cities - they all work without you and are mainly embodied by existing NPCs. However, you can challenge them and take their place, over time.
In cooperation with all figures, the forum forms its own, ever-ongoing history over time. If you have no ideas, it can not hurt to get involved with the ideas of your teammates, change post partners and the like.
Of course, the point of cooperation is also important here! You can always suggest adventures that others might like. Send your plot ideas to the staff or Poromail to create a bigger event, or ask if they can give you a brilliant idea. Do not be afraid to ask!
- Useful Terms:
- RPG: A role-playing game (sometimes spelled roleplaying game) is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting or through a process of structured decision-making of character development. Actions taken within many games succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines.
in-/out RPG: This is referring to where something happens. in-RPG usually means something that happens with or to a character or in the story. While out RPG usually means the players itself or something that is being discussed/planned outside of the actual story.
Posting Partner: A player and his character, you currently interact with.
Sceneplay: A topic started by one, two or even more players, where their characters interact on a certain day at a certain time. Once a sceneplay ends, the topic will be achieved.
NPC: Non-player characters in role-playing games. Here, it's referring primarily to all known/released League of Legends champions, which are part of this world as well.
Now it's time to think about a character. For that, you will need the character area where you can post your application.
Once your character is done, there are a few more things to do. Create an update thread for the development of your character. Also, post your character avatar in the list and register your account in the account overview.

We exclusively use scene plays. It ensures a faster character development, which will already take more than enough time to progress and allows a clearer overview for participates in a play and at what time it takes place.
Once in a while, there is also an option to skip more time than two months. This will also be part of the vote.
Once a scene is finished, note this at the end of the last post of your character ("scene end", "out", "finished" etc). As long this hasn't happened the scene still counts as active. Also, note the end of a scene in the title of that scene.
If you don't want to participate in a scene anymore but the scene isn't finished yet, you can leave it by posting the end of the scene under your last post.
You are allowed to open a scene with a single post without a posting partner. This can be done once a week.
In some cases, the staff can demand that a player participates in a scene. This could be for example in a scenario where said player is avoiding consequences he needs to deal with.
This scene is only available if a bigger plot is announced in the forum.

The recommended age in this forum is 16 years!
What does that mean? It means you should be older than 16 because the content of this forum is made for people above 16 years. However, nobody is going to kick you out if you are younger than 16. But maybe ask your parents first if they are okay with it.
This means for you as a player...
Language: Your contributions may use a dirty language and insults, which are directed towards other characters or NPCs - but not players.
Sex: Sex scenes may not be described in detail - no comments on genitals or any bodily fluids! Hentai/Porn are not allowed. Explicit content must be played in scenes and the title needs to contain a [16+].
Violence: Excessive descriptions of violence to living things and their consequences are to be omitted - so again: do not go into too much detail.
⇨ Involuntary prostitution, animal cruelty and racism* are among the absolute no-go's!
⇨ The glorification of illegal drugs, incest, rape is prohibited.
* If your character is a racist, that is fine. However, make sure that a silent reader understands that the racism is towards the character, not the player and only in-RPG allowed.

To properly get along in a community there always needs to be a way to make sure the community stays nice. Here, we do this with a warning system. There are multiple and different types of warnings which will be explained here.
As the staff is not always 100% reading every detail, please use the warning system (little flag next to edit and delete icon) to inform the team if you feel that there was some misbehaviour. The team will investigate and follow with action if needed.
You can have a total amount of 3 strikes at the same time.

Additionally, the forum owns a Discord server, which can be used for talking, spamming, gaming etc. As it is part of the community, the same rules apply there and vice versa. That means for example if you misbehave on the server it affects your reputation in the forum as well and can even lead to warnings and exclusion. Not included however are private messages in Discord. That is your own responsibility.
It is certainly a smart choice to join the server. Not just because it brings you closer to the community but also because there are going to be special giveaways from time to time. Also, the support there might be faster as it is in real time.
So please join:
